Patient Review 1:
I will preface this by saying that I initially went to Dr. Blackburn because I became friends with his wife. I didn't have a dentist I really liked, so I decided to try him. I was very impressed. His staff is very friendly and helpful. They don't push unneeded procedures on you, and they give you all the information you need to make an informed decision on what you want to do. Dr. Blackburn is not only pleasant and easy to deal with, but he was very honest about what I needed to have done. I knew I had a cracked molar, and he told me exactly what all my options were. I also had a tooth that was out of line with the others and he was very up front about the various ways to fix it and what it would cost. I really like not being pushed to do something I'm not sure I'm ready to do. I will definitely continue to see Dr. Blackburn for all my dental needs.
About Hygienist: The hygienist is very friendly as well as proficient. She even gave me a choice as to which method of cleaning I would prefer, and told me the pros and cons of both. For a patient that likes information and being a part of the decision process, this is THE dentist to see!!

Patient Review 2:
I am a big wus when it comes to dental work. I procrastinate and delay and talk myself out of it until I just simply have to go.Dr. Blackburn does not ridicule me, simply advises. They put me at ease and reduce my anxiety immediately. What a relief.I have had referrals to a specialist when Dr. Blackburn thought that was the course to take and the specialists have always agreed with Dr. Blackburns analysis.These folks have really been patient with me to the limits. I sometimes wonder how they can cope with my stupidity but they continue to do so.
About Hygienist: At least they follow the guidelines for safety and do the right things. I am still a baby when it comes to getting my teeth cleaned but they are very very patient with me and I have recommended several folks to go and see them. I know they have and they became patients of theirs immediately after.

Went to a dentist that did a great amount of damage to my teeth. I was directed to Blackburn as one of the best in Austin. I agree. He has done a great job getting me back to where I need to be.

I have been going to the dentist most of my life and believe me when I say "I know the DIFFERENCE between the Good, the bad and the ugly" Dr. Blackburn is one of the good guys. I was very comfortable with the whole experience. The front desk was very friendly and the wait was very short. The dental assistance was very gentle and knew what she was doing. Dr. Blackburn took his time examining me and explaining what we needed to do to fix my problem, then promptly did, with very little pain before or after . I had several questions, which were answered, not talked around. My experience was postive enough for me to go back and have my teeth cleaned.After several years of looking in Austin for a dentist and finding only the bad and ugly , I will go back to Dr. Blackburn for upkeep and any problems I have with my teeth in the future.

I recently became a patient of Dr. Blackburn's after being social friends with him and his wife for many years. I'm very glad I did. His initial oral exam was the most thorough I've ever had. He was gentle and explained every step of the exam, and showed me what he was doing and looking at. His staff was extremely pleasant and courteous. I had to wait a few minutes, and was apologized to for the delay. When I had my teeth cleaned by his hygenist, she explained every step, and checked with me along the way, to make sure I was comfortable and pain-free. The same thing occurred when I had x-rays taken--she checked with me to make sure I was ok.I've been very lucky in never having had bad experiences with a dentist, but I think Dr. Blackburn and his staff are the best I've ever gone to.

Have been using Dr. Blackburn for several years and I am very pleased with his work. His attitude is positive and the repairs he has done have lasted and been cost effective. His office is listed on the "Texas Dental Plan" insurance program and that provides a real savings. Office staff is efficient and pleasant. Going to the dentist has never been the highlight of my life but when I have to go I feel I am getting good work, good advice, and good service from Dr. Blackburn. Have recommended him to friends as well as my spouse..........that says it all.
